As a goodwill gesture, a full service was operated free of charge on the Friday before the start date, which was an ideal opportunity for some photos. Never one to disappoint, two brand new MAN/Wright Meridian single-decks put in an appearance on the X1 Bingham-Nottingham route, alongside the more usual Solos & Excels. Unfortunately, the launch was marred by teething troubles, with one bus (737) missing & the electronic blinds on the remaining four examples failing during the course of the day. Thankfully, these problems have since been rectified & the buses have since settled down to become reliable performers on the route.
